YOU ARE VALUABLE TO GOD!
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
Can I tell you something you might not believe right now?
You are incredibly valuable to God. Not the “you” who finally gets it all together. Not the “you” who conquers your anxiety, stops people-pleasing, and shows up perfectly for everyone. The you who exists right now messy, uncertain, still figuring things out, is deeply, profoundly valuable to God.
I know because I spent years believing the opposite.
The Lie We Believe
For so long, I operated from a place of “not enough.” Not thin enough, not spiritual enough, not patient enough with my kids, not productive enough, not joyful enough. I looked at my life and saw all the ways I was falling short, and I assumed God saw the same thing.
So I worked harder. I said yes when I wanted to say no. I performed and perfected and people-pleased my way through life, hoping that maybe, just maybe. if I could get it right, I would finally be valuable.
But here’s what I missed: God’s love isn’t waiting at the finish line. It’s meeting you exactly where you are.
You Don’t Have to Earn What’s Already Yours
Romans 5:8 changed everything for me: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
While we were still. Not after we cleaned up. Not when we finally conquered our struggles. Not when we became the women we think we should be.
Christ died for you while you were still a mess. While you were still struggling. While you were still broken and uncertain and far from perfect.
That means your value to God has nothing to do with your performance. It has everything to do with His character.
What God Sees When He Looks at You
When God looks at you, He doesn’t see:
- Your anxious thoughts
- Your struggle to say no
- Your messy house
- Your imperfect parenting
- Your unfinished projects
- Your body you wish looked different
He sees His beloved daughter. He sees someone so valuable that He gave His only Son for her. He sees someone worth pursuing, worth loving, worth dying for.
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” – 1 John 3:1
The Freedom of Being Enough
When you finally grasp that you are valuable to God right now, not someday, not when you fix yourself, but today, everything changes.
You stop performing for approval you already have.
You stop saying yes out of fear that people won’t love you if you say no.
You stop measuring your worth by your productivity or your appearance or other people’s opinions.
You start living from a place of fullness instead of trying to fill yourself up through achievement and approval.
What This Means for You Today
Sister, I don’t know what lies you’re believing about yourself right now. Maybe you think you’re too much or not enough. Maybe you think God is disappointed in you. Maybe you think your value depends on what you accomplish or how much you please others.
But here’s the truth: You are valuable to God simply because you are His.
Not because of what you do. Because of who He is.
You don’t have to earn it. You can’t lose it. It’s already yours.
A Prayer for Today
Father, help me believe what You say about me is true. Help me rest in the reality that I am valuable to You right now, not someday, but today. Teach me to stop performing for love I already have and start living from the freedom of being fully known and fully loved. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Remember This
Your value doesn’t increase when you have a good day and decrease when you fail. It’s steady. Unwavering. Secure.
Because it’s not based on you. It’s based on Him.
And He says you are worth dying for.
Believe Him.
In His grace,
Kelly
